| I informed manager yesterday that there is water damage in the 1st floor bathroom of 23rd Street in all 3 units, San Pedro, CA 90731 due to a leakage from a drain pipe probably and the drywall is wet and needs to be replaced. Manager is probably in need of the plumbers report from somebody in order to follow up the claim. Please let me know if there is any concern. There was water damage in my apartment starting in May of this year. The water broke through a closet in August. In November the manager took a mold test and to the day of this writing claims still waiting for the results. Could you please advise how much a test might cost? Investigating hidden mold problems may be difficult and will require caution when the investigation involves disturbing potential sites of mold growth. For example, removal of wallpaper can lead to a massive release of spores if there is mold growing on the underside of the paper. Exposure to mold is very common both inside and outside the residence, office and home, but some people are more sensitive to mold than others Molds have the potential to cause health problems. Molds produce allergens, irritants and some potentially toxic substances.
Because some mold spores are very small and can easily be breathed deeply into the lungs, it is usually not safe to live in houses with high mold levels ( spore counts ). Exposure to high spore levels can cause the development of an allergy to mold. Poor indoor air quality is one of the most important health issues we face today. Molds and fungi are found in virtually every environment and can be detected, both indoors and outdoors, year round. The number of species of existing molds and fungi is estimated from tens of thousands to three hundred thousand or more. Molds and fungi produce and release millions of spores small enough to be air-, water-, or insect-borne. They can also produce toxic agents known as mycotoxins. Spores and mycotoxins can have negative effects on human health including allergic reactions, asthma and other respiratory problems.

| Mold Question!
Description: In the middle of remodeling our recently purchased home, we discovered mold under our dining room and living room floors. It was found in-between the hardwood floors and the floor boards in both rooms. This was caused by constant pet urine by the previous owner\'s pets.
The hardwood floors were removed and thrown out. The KILZ product was put on the floor boards over what was left of the mold. Lawan was put down and new carpet and hardwood floors were installed.
We have a three and a half year old and a four month old in the house and want to make sure that we have taken care of this problem in its entirely and to make sure that we don\'t have other places in the house (such as the basement) where we may have missed.
My question is....How do go about finding out if we took care of this problem correctly and finding out if we have more??
